Master's Thesis on the "Craig Merideth Archive"

On the 12th September 2018, the Master's Thesis Classification and digitalization of the Craig Merideth Archive, was submitted at the Faculty of Filosofía y Letras (Humanities) of the University of Extremadura, UEX, (Cáceres, Spain). The author is José Miguel Mirón Rodríguez, and the work was directed by Alonso Rodríguez Díaz.

This Máster´s Thesis has consisted, on the one hand, in the organization, cataloging and digitalization of all the documentation contained in the aforementioned archive (letters, reports, digging diaries, photographs, slides, plans, etc.) relative to the Cerro de San Cristóbal, Logrosán, archaeological study. On the other hand, an important effort has been put into the memory of the complicated process carried out during almost two years for the proper contextualization of Merideth´s archaeological work in Logrosán, and its projection to the present time.

All this has supposed, without doubt, an acknowledgment to the enormous work developed by C. Merideth, and his team, in San Cristóbal, from 1992 until his unexpected death in 2005, showing and demonstrating the research potential of this site in the tin procurement in the Late Bronze Age, both at peninsular and extra peninsular levels. In fact, this Master´s Thesis, carried out within the University of Extremadura Master's Degree in Historical Research, fulfilled one of the main objectives (Axis B) of the LOGROTIN project (HAR2014-52922-P) of the R+D+I Excellence Plan of the MINECO.

The Master´s Thesis “Classification and digitalization of the Craig Merideth Archive” obtained the maximum qualification, and is aspiring to honors.

Once the Project is completed, the "Merideth Archive" is expected to be held at the "Vincente Sos Baynat" Geological and Mining Museum, in Logrosán.
